Yesterday I posted a 30 day plank challenge on Facebook that I took from Brit + Co.'s site to see if any of my Facebook friends were interested. I think about 10 ladies said they would participate in the challenge and I promised to post something every day to remind them to get their plank time in. Basically you start the first day (yesterday) doing a 10 second plank. Easy right? Then each day after that you add 10 seconds on to the previous day's time until you end with day 30 doing a 5 minute plank. Not so easy. I'm not sure if I will make it to the full 5 minutes, but I thought it would be a great way to start doing a little bit of something each day to form a habit.
Even though I run, I am horrible about keeping up with cross training and after having 2 kids in 2 years my abs are pretty close to nonexistent. Along with running, the plank challenge, doing some yoga and other stretches, and eating healthier (I've been doing a really good job of saying no to junk food lately) I'm hoping to cut down about 10 more pounds. I'm at a good place now, but I could definitely stand to lose a bit more of the baby weight I accumulated. I really need to tone things up and would love to have a stronger core as I know it will help while I run and anything that helps me run better is awesome in my book! I haven't had much time to post lately, but hopefully in the next could of days I can get an actual life/running update in.
