This past week I started reading Ginny Sheller's blog Small Things (Hi Ginny!). She writes lovely posts about her life with her husband and 6 children and their adventures around their home. I love the candid photos she takes as I feel like they really capture the moments that posed (and usually forced) pictures do not. I think with my own two small girls running around I can definitely learn something about photographing my own family from her.
Every Wednesday she hosts a Yarn Along on her blog where other people take a picture of what they are currently reading and knitting and then update a link to that picture/blog post on the Small Things blog. I think this is a great way to discover new books and knitting projects, so I have decided to join in the fun!
This week I am reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. It's a great novel, but usually I tend to read stories that have a bit more action in them, so this is kind of a slow read for me. I may have to renew it before it is due back to the library next week. The knit is the Antler Hat from Tin Can Knits. I love the cables on this hat and I'm hoping my brother will like them too as I am thinking of saving this for him for next Christmas-as long as it fits.
Your brother would be crazy if he didn't like it. Love the color and the cables!

DeleteWelcome to Yarn Along. I've been doing it for some time now.
ReplyDeleteThat book has popped up a few times on the Yarn Alongs. I really need to read it when I get a chance.
That hat is super cute. I have the Antler sweater pattern and didn't realize there was a hat pattern with the same cable. Thanks for the heads-ups!
Thank you! I love seeing everyone's projects, although now I feel the need to buy some more yarn.
DeleteIt really is a good book! Much bigger than I thought it would be though, it's over 500 pages.
Thanks, it's a very easy knit. I'm just the opposite, I didn't realize there was an Antler sweater pattern.
