Strange Weather, Chocolate Chip Cookies, and a F.O.

Today we are having some strange weather. It actually started last night when we began to get freezing rain, lightning, thunder and snow. Today it has been raining on and off and we have had intermittent fog clouds drifting through the yard all day. It has been lots of fun to see them blowing around, but I have never seen actual rolling fog before and it's a little unsettling. Tomorrow is supposed to be close to 60 degrees and by Friday it is supposed to be around 15 degrees. That's Michigan for you. I'm just hoping it is nice Wednesday night so I have a pleasant Urban Herd run where I'm not freezing and worrying about slipping on ice and into traffic.

Looking into the foggy woods from the back window.

Ice on the back deck from last nights lightning-ice thunder-snow.

Since it was kind of dreary today and I did a long run yesterday (which means I am incredibly hungry today, never fails) of course we made chocolate chip cookies. It sounded like a great idea...until we ended up with 4 1/2 dozen cookies! Oops. That's ok though, I just put 2/3 of them in the freezer to eat later.

So many cookies!

Today I also finished the Antler Hat I wrote about on Wednesday. It fits (me) great and I really love how the cables look. I think my brother has about the same size head as I do, so I hope it will fit him. Unfortunately I crossed four of the cables the wrong way, so each section of the hat but one has a cable crossed wrong. I didn't notice my mistakes until I had already completely finished the hat and wove the ends in, otherwise I would have ripped back and fixed them. Oh well!

I think it's time to finish up some of my outstanding knitting projects, it would be nice to be able to wear the mittens and the socks I have half finished before it gets too warm out. But I'll write more about that on Wednesday.
