I haven't written a yarn along post in awhile because there has been a severe lack of knitting around here lately! I am, however, almost finished with my oldest daughter's sweater, and since today is Thursday and I can never manage to post these things properly on Wednesday, here we go.
I am currently reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood and Marvel Comic's adaptation of Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I'm enjoying both immensely and I was surprised when I downloaded my new Zombies, Run! missions yesterday and found that Margaret Atwood is a guest speaker on one of the side missions. Talk about timing! What else could a post-apocalyptic book reading, zombie loving runner ask for?
I am so happy to almost be finished with this sweater! I have been drooling over socks and shawl patterns lately on Ravlery and can't wait to move on to a different, more portable project. I'm hoping to finish it up tonight.
What are you knitting and reading lately? I'm always looking for new things to keep me busy!
That sweater is adorable! I just love the colors and that little diamond design.
ReplyDeleteThank you! My daughter picked out the colors (I wouldn't have picked out pink myself), but I think the finished product turned out very nice.
DeleteI re-read "A Handmaid's Tale" last year and had to stop reading it. I felt like it was a little too possible with the current state of the world. I do really like Margaret Atwood, though. I read the two "MaddAdam" books ("Oryx and Crake" and then "The Year of the Flood") and found them a little easier to read, emotionally. They're also post-apocalyptic.
ReplyDeleteI'm about halfway through it right now and I know what you mean, it is freaking me out a little! I read both Oryx and Crake and Year of the Flood a couple years ago and I think Year of the Flood was my favorite of the two.
